Car accidents sends Fairfield woman to hospital

A traffic accident Monday afternoon north of Fairfield sent one person to the hospital.

Brandy Davis, 29, of Fairfield, was taken by ambulance to the Jefferson County Health Center with non-life threatening injuries after being involved in a crash with another vehicle.

According to a Jefferson County Sheriff’s report, John Hagelin, 65, of Fairfield, was driving a white 2007 Lexus and headed north on Highway 1 at 4:41 p.m. Hagelin turned west onto Airport Road, failing to yield to an orange Dodge Caravan driven by Davis, who was traveling south on Highway 1.

The front end of Davis’s vehicle struck the rear passenger side of Hagelin’s vehicle. Davis’s vehicle ended up in the southwest ditch, while Hagelin’s remained on the roadway. Hagelin refused medical treatment.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Hagelin was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.
