The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

Friday

12:57 a.m. -- Suspicious activity was reported in the 800 block of South Ninth.

1:31 a.m. -- Police provided warrant service in the 1200 block of West Burlington.

2 a.m. -- Police assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 10th and Grimes.

7:38 a.m. -- A traffic accident was reported in 1900 block of West Burlington.

9:05 a.m. -- A municipal infractions citation was issued at Pleasant Plain and Walton roads to Alexander Buffington, 28, for speeding 35 mph in a 25 mph zone.

9:09 a.m. -- A verbal warning was issued at Fifth and Hempstead for a traffic violation. The driver had the signed title and paperwork. He was advised to get insurance before driving the vehicle.

9:18 a.m. -- Gunshots were reported in the 700 block of West Fillmore. Police checked the area. A passerby advised she thought the noise came from the 700 block of Taylor.

9:43 a.m. -- Suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of West Polk.

10:37 a.m. -- Matthew Jaquez, 22, was arrested on a warrant.

10:38 a.m. -- Livestock was reported in the 200 block of West Adams.

11:39 a.m. -- A worker reported entering a confined space in the 100 block of East Adams.

12:42 p.m. -- A lost and found was reported in the 800 block of West Broadway.

12:52 p.m. -- A verbal warning was issued at Fourth and Carpenter for an expired registration sticker. The registration was current.

1:53 p.m. -- Lost and found was reported in the 50 block of South Fourth.

3:29 p.m. -- Maharishi University of Management Campus Security reported a large, bald white male walking around campus in his underwear and carrying an item in his hands.

3:46 p.m. -- Harassment was reported in the 400 block of West Burlington.

4:12 p.m. -- Extra patrol was requested in the 300 block of South 17th.

5:29 p.m. -- A hit and run was reported in the 400 block of West Burlington.

6:24 p.m. -- Harassment was reported in the 400 block of South 14th.

7:01 p.m. -- Disturbing the peace was reported in the 200 block of West Lowe.

7:29 p.m. -- Police investigated drugs-narcotic violations, drugs-equipment violations and other offenses at Sixth and Washington. At 7:33 p.m., Gregory Scott Buch, 43, of Fairfield, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, eluding law enforcement vehicle (serious), driving while suspended, revoked, canceled or denied, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance.

7:29 p.m. -- A K-9 search was requested at Sixth and Washington.

8:15 p.m. -- A search warrant/consent search was conducted in the 1100 block of Highway 78.

8:38 p.m. -- An object was in the road in the 1000 block of South Sixth.

8:53 p.m. -- An animal concern was reported at Fifth and Harrison.

9:06 p.m. -- An animal concern was reported in the 2200 block of Highway 34 East.

11:34 p.m. -- Warrant service was provided in the 600 block of North C.

Saturday

2:49 a.m. -- Police and Ottumwa Police Department spoke about a missing person-runaway.

6:52 a.m. -- Suspicious activity was reported in the 700 block of West Taylor.

7:59 a.m. -- Police assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in the 1900 block of Spruce.

9:45 a.m. -- An alarm was reported in Fairfield.

10:02 p.m. -- A municipal infractions citation was issued at Fourth and Carpenter for failure to obey a traffic signal.
