The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

MONDAY

7:18 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued at 12th and Grimes for a traffic violation.

7:33 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued at Pleasant Plain Road and Lakeview for speed.

11:12 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued at Seventh and Jackson for a traffic violation.

11:40 a.m. — A business was contacted about an alarm.

12:05 p.m. — Larceny theft was reported in the 100 block of West Adams.

12:06 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued at Pleasant Plain and Walton roads for speed.

12:54 p.m. — Extra patrol was requested in the 600 block of North Main.

1:28 p.m. — A worker was entering a confined space at O.B. Nelson Park.

3:09 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued at B and Zimmerman for speed.

3:35 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued at Main and Buchanan for speed.

3:45 p.m. — Trespassing was reported in the 700 block of West Tyler.

5:01 p.m. — Psychiatric behavior was reported in the 50 block of West Briggs.

6:35 p.m. — Police investigated assault-simple in the 300 block of East Lowe. At 6:42 p.m., Steven Ray Downs, 23, of Fairfield, was arrested and charged with assault-simple.

6:41 p.m. — Police were requested to check on the welfare of a person at Highway 1 and Libertyville Road.

7:19 p.m. — A violation of a no-contact order was reported in the 1000 block of South Fourth.

8:45 p.m. — A motor vehicle theft was reported in the 200 block of East Pierce.

9:04 p.m. — Police were requested to check on the welfare of a person in Evergreen Cemetery.

9:48 p.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 1600 block of South Main.

10:01 p.m. — Suspicious activity was reported at Seventh and Tyler.

10:07 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued at Third and Burlington for a broken taillight.

11:02 p.m. — Police assisted a motorist at Seventh and Jefferson.

TUESDAY

1:51 a.m. — Police assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in the 2700 block of West Burlington.
