The Trojan girls’ basketball team won easily at Fort Madison Friday, 53-31, to improve to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the SEC through one cycle of conference games.
Hit the ground running
Fairfield took a 22-6 lead after just eight minutes and never looked back, and although they were out scored 12-5 in the second frame of play, they still held a lead through out including a nine-point lead at the half. After three quarters it was 35-22 Fairfield and the Trojans stepped on the Bloodhounds tails on the way out with a 18-9 advantage for the 22-point conference road victory.
Shay Drish had 22 points and five steals, Destiny Gridley had 13 points and seven rebounds, Malory Jones had six points and five rebounds, Darby Kaska had three points and five rebounds, Ashley Bloomquist had three points, Madison Kraemer had three points, Danielle Breen had two points and Allison Rebling had one point.
