IDE gymnastics successful spring season

Local gymnastics teams from IDE have been busy the last few months, zigzagging across Iowa and accomplishing quite a lot.

Birthday Bash

The event was March 23 in Waverly and IDE took six athletes and brought home six first places. First place in the double mini trampoline was Kaley Kunzler and Jaxon McDaniel while Madison Yarnell and Coach Marissa Rupe claimed first in both double mini trampoline and trampoline. In second place was Amber Burroughs in double mini trampoline and trampoline and Alyson Lille was fourth in trampoline.

AAU at Ottumwa

March 30 was the day IDE claimed 19 first places including Jaxon McDaniel who was first in trampoline, double mini trampoline, single mini trampoline and power tumbling. Also receiving first in both trampoline and double mini trampoline were Amber Burroughs, Kaylee Wright, Madison Yarnell and Chaz Wohnoutka. Payton Wiley got first in power tumbling and single mini trampoline. In trampoline only first went to Chalan Zugg, Coach Marissa Rupe, Edith Diers, and Lexie Wiley and Elaina Miller was first in single mini trampoline. Second place was Brystol Wiley in the trampoline, power tumbling and single mini trampoline. Fourth was Gabriella Diers in double mini trampoline and sixth place in trampoline was Chunni Bregenzer.

Ninja meet

Marshalltown hosted on April 6-7 and 10 athletes earned eight first place marks.

Jaxon McDaniel was first in trampoline, double mini trampoline and power tumbling. Chaz Wohnoutka and Kaylee Wright got first in both trampoline and double mini trampoline and coach Marissa Rupe was first in Trampoline only. Second place went to Elisha Vander Linden in tumbling and fourth place was Hayden Smith in both trampoline and double mini trampoline and Skylar Smith in trampoline only. Fifth was Amber Burroughs in both trampoline and double mini trampoline and Hailey Reinier was fifth in power tumbling.

Flipping into spring

The team traveled to Monmouth, Illinois with seven athletes bringing home seven first place medals. First place in sub-advanced level trampoline and double mini trampoline was coach Trista Benedict while beginner trampoline and double mini trampoline was ruled by Elisha Vander Linden. Also in first in double mini trampoline only was Brystol Wiley and Calleigh Burford while Payton Wiley won the trampoline event. Lexie Wiley got second place in power tumbling and Hailey Reinier got second place in double mini trampoline.

“It’s a Circus in There”

Held in Truro at the I-35 high school, 12 athletes attended and returned to Fairfield with 17 first place medals. Coach Trista Benedict, Hailey Reinier and Johan Stockstad won first in trampoline, double mini trampoline and power tumbling. Skylar Smith, Hayden Smith and Kaylee Wright won first in both trampoline and double mini trampoline. Kayse Miller won first in double mini trampoline and Breanna Drish won first in power tumbling. Jaxon McDaniel received second place in all three events while Alyson Lilley were second in double mini trampoline. Leigha Metcalf was third in trampoline and Annalee Warth was fifth in double mini trampoline.
