Senior Weaton leads Trojans to third place

The Trojan boys’ golf team finished third out of eight schools Tuesday at Albia during a perfect day to be outdoors.

“Jackson did a great job on the back nine with seven pars and a birdie,” said head coach Mick Flattery.

Evan Haines, Fr., 94 (49, 45)

“Evan’s mid-irons were really good,” said Flattery. Haines scored two pars.

Drake Rippey, Jr., 95 (48, 47)

“Drake drove the ball well,” added the Trojans skipper. Rippey had four pars on the day.

Nathan Smithburg, Fr., 97 (51, 46)

The freshman had a “great back nine” according to his coach, with seven pars overall.

Brad Smithburg, So., 101 (43, 48)

“Brad rallied well on the back nine,” said Flattery.
