The Trojan girls’ golf team traveled to Keokuk Monday for the Southeast Conference meet.
“It was a beautiful day, for golf for a change,” joked head coach Joe Kruzich. “We had a much better scoring day than the last time we played in Keokuk, and Megan is getting closer to breaking that 100 mark while Lindy continues to get better in several areas, as well.”
Megan Higgins shot 104 and placed eighth while Lindy Kaska finished with a 131.
Medalist was Kiki Guo of Washington, shooting a 78 while her teammate Josie Tanner was runner-up with an 82. The Demons grabbed the team title with a low combined-round of 362, followed by 374 from Mt. Pleasant and 480 from Keokuk. It is worth noting that Fairfield actually had a better round per golfer than Keokuk’s four girls.
